Monthly Dinner Club

This is a blogspot which will serve as a Restaurant Review for our Monthly Dinner Club. We are based in Cape Town and have visited restaurants since January 2001. Each month, one of the Organisers selects a new restaurant with the only rule being that it is not allowed to be a venue that the Monthly Dinner Club or one of the Organisers have frequented before.

Review:

- Yellow tail was tasty, but slightly over cooked. Company was awesome! Thxs, was a great first time at the 'Chow Club'...

- This is a very cool restaurant. The only thing preventing a par score on the duck-worthlessness scale is the slow service. Food was excellent & company was fantastic!

- Two course special was well worth it for R99 - lentil soup and beef medallions were delicious. No space for dessert - although I believe it was divine, since Janine didn't share!

- Very nice restaurant! 3 course special great value! Will definitely recommend!

- Fantastic setting, good food, good company - life is good!

- Summer special was well worth the money. Great atmosphere & good company.

- Starters were served quickly but mains took forever to arrive. Presentation of medallions were bland, but tasted ok.

- The roasted lamb rump was very nice. Very tasty. Service was a bit slow and the company was great!

- They have chewy mints to end off - yay!

- We were short on our bill, only to realise that the bill includes a 15% additional tip! We're normally generous with our tip, but this was a bit cheeky especially since it was not mentioned on the menu that large tables will be charged any sort of tip - and 15% at that! However, we did notify the Manager so perhaps it will be printed on the menu's in future.
