Monthly Dinner Club

This is a blogspot which will serve as a Restaurant Review for our Monthly Dinner Club. We are based in Cape Town and have visited restaurants since January 2001. Each month, one of the Organisers selects a new restaurant with the only rule being that it is not allowed to be a venue that the Monthly Dinner Club or one of the Organisers have frequented before.

Comments:

- Food was very good, food a little slow

- Food really good. Enjoyed the pap! The monthly dinner book was a bit on the thin side. Fillet was great, perfectly done. Big portions, value for money!

- I enjoyed the pork belly roast very much. Service was quite slot but the staff were helpful. The problem with 2 of the meals was rectified.

- Service started off well but slowed down considerably before the main meal was served. The carpaccio & salmon was fantastic though. I really enjoyed my meal.

- Burger was ok - not the best!

- Oxtail was very succulent & served with rice & veggies. Free salad bar is a good idea as don't need starter. Ribs fall off the bone, soft - good.

- Butternut soup needed a bit of salt & spices, but good portions starter & mains. Fillet lovely & tasty. Nice vibe & staff very helpful. Enjoyed.

- Here's a tip. If you see a 500g prime rib on the menu, stop drooling & think for a second. It's actually a 300g steak with 500g of bone & sinew. Mine was as close to medium rare as George W Bush is to Muslim. But for all the faults it at least tasted good. I enjoyed the atmosphere. 78% Nitrogen.
