Monthly Dinner Club

This is a blogspot which will serve as a Restaurant Review for our Monthly Dinner Club. We are based in Cape Town and have visited restaurants since January 2001. Each month, one of the Organisers selects a new restaurant with the only rule being that it is not allowed to be a venue that the Monthly Dinner Club or one of the Organisers have frequented before.

Comments:

- LONG wait for food and service!

- Octopus starter was very 'chewy'!

- Nice venue, vibey spot. Prawn starter phyllo was lovely! Fillet was good + big portion.

- Moussaka - big helping but not that tasty!

- Grilled calamari - very chewy, not soft + tender. No Linguine for the pasta :-(

- Haloumi with fig was excellent but it went down from there. Chicken with linguine turned into chicken with spaghetti which became chicken with penne. Apparently the kitchen was out of linguine + spaghetti. Ordered an Americano - (Black coffee) and was offered hot or cold milk. Go figure!! May the 4th be with you... always!!

- Chicken strips starter great - had it for mains, should have stopped - eyes bigger than stomach.

- 4 dips was good and chicken very tasty. Big portion could not finish. No complaints from my side. Oh yes, the "berry daiquiri" was absolutely delish!

- Not really sure if restaurant is Greek, Italian or mixture of med food. Food good though. Big portion of moussaka.

- Good linguine! :-) food was good.

- Haloumi salad was good. Needed lots more garlic and mushrooms in the pasta Galinia and it was a shame that they ran out of linguine and spaghetti. Cocktails were yummy + nice atmosphere.

- Roccacino = cuppa with condensed milk - yum!

- Grilled chicken breast + chips was very good. Not the fastest service in the world though.
