Monthly Dinner Club

This is a blogspot which will serve as a Restaurant Review for our Monthly Dinner Club. We are based in Cape Town and have visited restaurants since January 2001. Each month, one of the Organisers selects a new restaurant with the only rule being that it is not allowed to be a venue that the Monthly Dinner Club or one of the Organisers have frequented before.

Comments:

- Mojito was yum!

- Larry is the boss man & came to check on us a few times.

- Quail was different & enjoyable. The smallest drumsticks I've ever had!

- Pork belly and clam ragu served with parmesan mash and green bean gremolata - huge portion. I'm a sissy and found it spicy but I really enjoyed it. Good value for money at R105.

- "Big Gus Pizza" was delicious, pork a bit rich, nice thin base and "different" - great atmosphere at restaurant.

- Pizza was gr8 - could have more cheese. Atmosphere great, company fantastic. Was gr8.

- Interesting little place, nice vibe. Venison pizza was fabulous!

- What a wonderful Eatery!! Amazing food and staff. Lots of fun and great company!! Thx Lucy for organising.

- Steak was very good, baby potatoes soft and salad a surprise - gooseberries and beetroot in the salad - lovely combo! Will come back for pizza.

- Nice atmosphere. Laid back - basic but good food. Pizza really nice. Venison & Camembert pizza - great combination on the crispy base.

- Such a quaint eatery. Pizza's were fabulous especially the "stolen" pizza that hubby got to eat. Great company!

- Ye though I walk through the valley of death... only joking! Great to meet the "Lucy's Team" of gastronomic adventurers, thanks for the experience. I had the pork belly ragu and found it tasty and filling in a good stock to the ribs kinda winter food way. Good to find alphabetical wine.

- I ordered the stuffed quail - very tasty although overpowering for a delicate meat  - would like to try the pizza next. Good company  and fun event - thanks Lucy! We wouldn't have tried this spot if it wasn't for you!

- Saltimboca was great. And they know how to make a good espresso.

- My chocolate fondant was divine, chocolate ooooozing out the centre!
