Monthly Dinner Club

This is a blogspot which will serve as a Restaurant Review for our Monthly Dinner Club. We are based in Cape Town and have visited restaurants since January 2001. Each month, one of the Organisers selects a new restaurant with the only rule being that it is not allowed to be a venue that the Monthly Dinner Club or one of the Organisers have frequented before.

Comments:

- Service very poor - had to wait long for food! Food was tasty - very filling pancakes = Dosa, served on trays with no cutlery as you need to eat with your hands.

- Agree, service very slow. Food was very tasty, with good presentation and tested very authentic. Liked the Thali as you got tasters of several dishes.

- Looks like the place is under staffed, given the slow service. Would not come here if I was really hungry - better for a late night snack ordered after work.

- Food tasty - just a long wait. Would like some more meat!

- Food was very tasty. Something different. Service was poor, but I think that they are not geared for big groups. I think some better planning would do wonders.

- Food was very tasty & very different. Long wait didn't matter - just drink more! Prices extremely reasonable.

- The food was different but tasty. Service a bit slow - and there was only 1 toilet (unisex).

- No complaints about the food, very tasty and filling. But the service was very bad. Helped that we got a pudding platter (on the house). will come back, but not in a group.

- Food was delicious but we waited for along time. Apparently restaurant was under staffed and they were not expecting so many people. The main course & starters were delivered together or in the wrong order. Badly done! I hope they up their game.

- They came to apologise & made up for it by giving 2 dessert platters for everyone to share. Very humble gesture:-) Food good.

- Ice cream was very good - cardamon with pistachio, tasted like condensed milk. Great dessert platters on the house!
