Monthly Dinner Club

This is a blogspot which will serve as a Restaurant Review for our Monthly Dinner Club. We are based in Cape Town and have visited restaurants since January 2001. Each month, one of the Organisers selects a new restaurant with the only rule being that it is not allowed to be a venue that the Monthly Dinner Club or one of the Organisers have frequented before.

Reviews:

1. Chourico Assado was hot & spicy, great!

2. Beef Fillet with balsamic jus, medium rare for the ladies was excellent!

3. This was the best fish I've ever had the pleasure of consuming. PS. No corkage allowed:-(

4. Salmon was yummy!

5. Camembert was superb!! Chicken breast was good, although the sauce was over powering. Waiting to taste how good the coffee is.

6. Was going to sell my car to try the shellfish... not enough - tried the roast duck instead - very good!

7. Lovely setting, nice vibe, food delicious!! sideshow at next tabel made for interesting conversation!

8. Great place!! Fillet was excellent, Greek salad was stunning, the sights are brilliant.

9. Fiona -> she was tipsy:-) So, I had sole (again) - cheaper than surfside, but very good, prawn sauce great! Sole was a bit on the small side, so Chef decided to send another one!! NO, I DID NOT ASK FOR IT!! Really great venue. Just glad Chris is paying!!

10. Great venue, very trendy, very vibey, lots of sugar daddy's & interesting people. (I still think it was the shoes... that made her cry) Very tasty food, good portions, very enjoyable evening.

11. (She was crying cause he slept with her other cousins' sisters' niece who had the same shoes!)

12. Food was excellent, waiting for creme brulee. Sideshow entertaining not to mention the debate at the table.

13. Music was to mellow yellow aka not dancing music unless you're a coffin dodger:-)

Reviews:

1. Good Potjie but very limited menu so you can have potjie & potjie for main and chocolate pot with ice cream for dessert. Also not very full. We were the only table besides a few people at the bar. Would have been a better vibe if the restaurant was fuller. Nice decor!

2. Food was good - pity about the cockroaches between the feta cheese! (not many of you saw that!!!) Could be quite a 'hang out' if better advertised.

3. Damn fine potjie! Nice place, liked the little potjie pots (pity it wouldn't fit in my purse...)

4. Different, not terrible...

5. Food was very nice though limited menu.

6. Shortest Bill we have ever received: Meals R805.00 :-)
