Monthly Dinner Club

This is a blogspot which will serve as a Restaurant Review for our Monthly Dinner Club. We are based in Cape Town and have visited restaurants since January 2001. Each month, one of the Organisers selects a new restaurant with the only rule being that it is not allowed to be a venue that the Monthly Dinner Club or one of the Organisers have frequented before.

Review:

- Hot Waitress! ** note this comment was repeated a few times **

- Great sardines with coarse salt.

- Chourizo: overcooked, Espetada: overcooked - Verdict: not convinced

- Portuguese steak = Excellent!

- Espetada bit "overdone" but sauce very nice - almost as hot as the waitress!

- Chicken kebabs were very well done! Can recommend.

- Best caldo verde soup and line fish - my God!!

- "Finger licking good" - C.O.

- Medium Rare espetada was medium but still very tasty. Peri - Peri sauce was "delish" Rissole starter recommended.

- Feijoda was very healthy & generous portion, tasted even better with added peri peri / garlic sauce.

Unfortunately, no pictures this time as our Photographer did not attend:-)

Comments:

- This was one of the best monthly dinners ever! Can recommend the "221 fillet". Very, very good!

- Bread rolls quite filling. Ricotta & tomato tart really good (lots of pesto). Fillet very good.

- Creme brulee very yummy :-) Lucy didn't finish her cow!!

- Starter - Springbok carpaccio was soooo tasty. Cheese venison & wasabi mayo was seriously excellent. Great portion too. The Cognac Beef fillet was divine. I ordered the Moo Moo rare & was very tender. Overall verdict: The place is fantastic topped with a relaxing enjoyable atmosphere. A piece of culinary magic (shit I waffle)

- Salmon sushi was stunning as was the sweet chili chicken. Warm bread rolls and flavoured butter started off a great meal. Good choice. Wonderful.

- My best monthly dinner! The small group was great and to top it all off - the food was delicious. The Brie starter was good, the 221 fillet the best I have had. the nougat ice cream was huge! but good. I will need to roll home...

- I got a full cup of coffee. Absolutely fabulous!!

- Awesome. Definitely worth a return visit. Salmon roses were great, generous salmon on the rose. Prime rib was a huge portion - come hungry! Dom Pedro was good. No complaints at all! Fabulous! Nomfundo was a great Waitress too!

- Hospitality great. Manager offered us spring bokkies on the house. Top Notch service!

- Even chewy mints with the bill!
